Anke is one of the smallest hollow forms I have turned recently, almost round, like a sphere sitting on the shelf. I only charred a vertical band down the front of her, so the natural colour of the oak stays visible on both sides. A thin line of turquoise runs straight through the middle of the charred band, splitting it in two. I hand turned her from red oak, from the tree that came down during a storm in a forest close to Dresden.…
