Erna is a small hollow form with a narrow opening, more rounded at the base and tapering in towards the top. I charred the area around the rim, so it sits like a dark collar at the top of the piece, while the rest of the surface keeps its natural red oak colour. The fine ridges across the surface are from the turning itself. A thin line of turquoise runs down from the charred rim into the lighter wood below.
