Erna is a small hollow form with a rounded base and a narrow opening. The area around the rim is charred, creating a dark collar above the natural colour of the red oak. Fine horizontal ridges preserve traces of the turning process, while a thin turquoise line descends from the blackened rim into the lighter wood. Erna was turned from the same log as Anke; despite their different forms, the two vessels work naturally as a pair.
