This is a tall piece, with a rim left the way the chainsaw cut through the log, rough and natural, not turned smooth. There are two holes going straight through the sides of the vessel, and through them you can see the charred, dark interior underneath. Near one of the holes there is a knot, where a branch once grew. A thin line of turquoise runs down from the rim into the wood, following the same line as the openings. Hand turned from red oak, from the tree that came down in a storm in a forest close to Dresden.
