Shannon is a live-edge vessel hand-turned from a red oak that fell during a storm in a forest near Dresden. The unusual shape of the trunk inspired the piece from the beginning, so its natural outline was preserved rather than turned away. Two openings pass through the sides of the bowl, each traced by a thin turquoise line running in the opposite direction. Shannon is a piece the maker continually returns to—an object to look at, spend time with, and appreciate from every angle.
